SESSION 1 – BIOGAS AND BIOMETHANE IN EUROPE What are the current market trends? What impact has the European energy policy had and will it have on EU countries' recovery and resilience plans? Which countries have the highest biomethane production? These are some of the questions that will be answered during this session. |

SESSION 2 – BIOGAS AND BIOMETHANE: EXCELLENCES OF THE APULIAN REGION With 1.3 million hectares of cultivated land, Apulia is one of the Italian regions with the largest Utilized Agricultural Area (UAA), accounting for 65.8% of the total regional area and 10.2% of the national UAA, where the primary sector significantly contributes to the added value of the regional economy. In recent years, Apulia has seen a growing number of investments in the biogas and biomethane sector, also thanks to the abundant availability of agricultural and agro-industrial matrices. |

SESSION 3 – DECARBONIZATION GOAL: POSSIBLE FINAL USES OF BIOMETHANE Biomethane can be used not only as a biofuel in the transport sector (including maritime transport) but also as a biofuel for other final uses. In this session, the opinions of various stakeholders in the supply chain will be heard, and we will try to understand how to facilitate the meeting of supply and demand. |

SESSION 4 – RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT IN SERVICE OF BIOMETHANE The anaerobic digestion sector, in Italy and worldwide, is continuously evolving. This session will explore some innovations that could positively impact both production efficiency and the environment. |
16.15 |
SESSION 9 – VALORIZING OTHER BY-PRODUCTS OF THE BIOMETHANE PLANT An anaerobic digestion plant, in addition to producing biomethane, also generates other by-products that, if properly valued, can enhance the economic performance of the project. This session will cover topics related to carbon dioxide recovery and liquefaction, proper digestate management, and compost production. |
